This linen fabric is treated with a special stonewash technique. This process involves washing the fabric with pumice stones or other abrasive materials, which ‘sands’ the surface of the fabric. This results in a fabric that is softer and more flexible, with a slightly weathered and casual look. The unique thing about the stonewash technique is that it gives the fabric more ‘life’; the texture becomes richer and the colour nuances are enhanced. Lightfastness

Our linen has excellent lightfastness. This is due to the unique nature of linen, a fabric that is very different from cotton. Cotton tends to discolour because it is first bleached and then dyed, resulting in a lower lightfastness. Linen, on the other hand, is dyed directly from the original colour. This ensures that any discolouration occurs very gradually and evenly. It is a natural process that is similar to the discolouration that occurs with materials such as natural stone and wood. Therefore, you can be confident that the colour of our linen will remain long-lasting, even when exposed to light.
